COURSE AIM 

The Solar DHW Installers Course will provide generic information about the majority of domestic solar hot water heating systems installed in the U.K. The emphasis is to reflect the current technologies in the U.K. solar market and meet the requirements of manufacturers. 

WHO WOULD BENEFIT? 

The course is aimed at competent plumbing operatives and heating engineers to facilitate selection, installation and maintenance of domestic solar heating systems. 

        -Candidates with a number of year's experience in plumbing or conventional heating engineering.

-Candidates who hold a formal qualification at NVQ Level 3 in plumbing or heating engineering.

-Candidates who are currently undertaking a course in plumbing or heating engineering which will lead to a formal qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in plumbing or heating engineering.

Please Note: Candidates should also possess a valid Unvented Hot Water Systems qualification or undertake the BPEC course as an additional 1 Day course linked to the solar course.

WHY BECOME A REGISTERED INSTALLER? 

There are a number of UK grant schemes offering grants for renewable energy technologies to householders, public and private sector organisations. All of the current grant schemes require systems to be installed by accredited installers, so gaining accreditation is a key step if you are considering becoming part of the growing renewables industry.  

COURSE DURATION AND LOCATION 

This 3-day course is available at The Plumbing Academy, Edenbridge. If the BPEC G3 unvented hot water qualification course is also required the course will be 4-days (extra 1-day may not be consecutive). 

COURSE CERTIFICATION 

Successful candidates are awarded the BPEC Solar Domestic Hot Water Heating Certificate.  

 COURSE LITERATURE 

Each candidate will require a BPEC Solar Domestic Hot Water Heating Systems training pack (included in the course costs). The pack includes a pre-course training manual which should be studied prior to attending the course.
